   The Society has Branches throughout the United Kingdom

 

Details of Branch Organisers and Meeting are detailed below and now appear in Railway Modeller and Continental Modeller magazines:

The Society is holding its next “Virtual Branch Meeting” which will be open to all members, friends and those interested in Swiss Railways, on Sunday 21st March at 20:00. The speaker will be Andreas Häsler and the subject is ‘Up to the Schynige Platte’, where Andreas will use pictures and some short films from the archives of Hans and Andreas Häsler.  The meeting will be held using “Zoom” – works on Windows, Macs, Tablets and Smart phones. Details of how to log-on can be found on a link from the home page of the “Members Area” of the website or email: meetings@swissrailsoc.org.uk.  Join at 19:45 for a chat before the presentation and there will be time for questions and answers afterwards. Past meeting can also be viewed on the same webpage.

16 May: Rob Morrey –  ‘Trains, Boats and Buses’.
20 June: Glyn Jones – When there were ‘Real Trains’ on the RhB.
18 July: Paul Russenberger – Getting Up the Mountain
15 August: Gervase Dawidek – “Musing on the Lower Engadine and Surrounding Area”.

19 September:  Peter Statham – Swiss Railway Electrification with particular focus on the Rhätische Bahn.
17 October: David Stevenson – More of My Switzerland.
21 November: Boyd Misstear – Porta Alpina to Pontresina – Part Two of Boyd’s model railway.

All meetings start at 20:00 UK time and last for about 1 hour.


Bristol and Bath

We ask for a donation of £2 to help cover the cost of room hire.

The Branch is not planning to hold any meetings before the beginning of 2021.  For further information please contact the Branch Organiser.

There will be the chance to meet up with members for a  chat before the meeting from 18:00.  The YMCA Cafe has now closed but you can bring your own food or there is an excellent Fish and Chip Shop nearby.
