A two part journey on the Swiss Federal Railway’s only metre gauge line operating between the Bernese Oberland and Lake Lucerne, and now run by the Zentralbahn. This first programme takes the train from the resort of Interlaken along the northern shore of Lake Brienz to Meiringen. Along the way we explore the wood-carving village of Brienz, where we also take the famous steam rack railway to the Rothorn. We visit the open-air museum at Ballenberg, and at Meiringen we admire the famous Reichenbach falls and wander around the fascinating Sherlock Holmes Museum. Shot from train, air and trackside.
